Here's a handy list of what's open and closed on New Year's Day this year:
- Retail stores: Open at owners' discretion.
- Supermarkets and liquor stores: Most open.
- Convenience stores: Most open.
- Bars and restaurants: Open at owners' discretion.
- Town offices & library: Closed.
- Banks: Closed.
- Schools: Closed.
- Post office: Closed.
- MBTA: Operating on a modified schedule.
- Trash/Recycling: In JP, collection Day is delayed one day, unless you have twice-weekly pickup. Friday collection will be picked up on Saturday.
