State Rep. Sánchez, Youth Leaders Unite to Host 'Family Nights' in Jamaica Plain

The events will feature music, entertainment, information and food and run through August.

A local youth group based in Jamaica Plain will be hosting a series of "family night" events this summer. 

State Rep. Jeffrey Sánchez (D-Boston) will join together with Uprising Youth Leaders of Bromely-Heath each Tuesday night from June through August at the Anna Mae Cole Center in Jamaica Plain, according to an announcement this week from Sánchez's office.

The events will run from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesdays at the center, located at 10 Lamartine St. in Jamaica Plain, and are meant to allow young leaders to promote their work in the community.

The Uprising Youth Leaders of Bromley is a newly-formed organization for youths aged 12-17 years from Jamaica Plain's Bromley-Heath Housing Development

The group began organizing this spring and focus on increasing the quality of life in the development, including reducing violence and increasing cleanliness in the community.
