Some Awed, Some Irked by Lawn Display in Jamaica Plain

A Jamaica Plain's artistic efforts have irritated a few nearby residents.

The artistic efforts of a local resident have drawn mixed reactions from neighbors and city officials.

Jonathan Handy, who lives on Amory Street in Jamaica Plain, uses his front lawn to display art he creates from trash he collects while walking his dog in the mornings, Boston.com reported.

But some have not shared his vision for art. While some have admired his work, Handy has also been ticketed by city officials, and one neighbor brought the issue to Boston’s Inspectional Services Department, an attorney for which found that Handy had constitutional right to display art on his own land, according to the report.
