Fourth Annual JP Music Festival 2014 Date Announced

This year's festival line-up will be announced in June.

The fourth annual Jamaica Plain Music Festival will return to the area this fall.

The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Pinebank Field from 12-7 p.m. This year, the festival will have two stages and have continuous music from more than 20 artists throughout the event. The essence of the festival will focus on musicians, bands, group or ensemble members who either live or work in Jamaica Plain.

"The JP Music Festival has come a long way in four years, but we wouldn’t be able to produce the festival without the continued support of these great local sponsors," Shamus Moynihan, co-producer of the festival and promoter at The Midway Café, said in a statement. "Their generous support help bring the JP Music Festival to life and reinforce to us all what a special place JP is."

Samuel Adams, based in Jamaica Plain, will donate use of two trolleys to take residents to and from Pinebank Field before and during the festival; the trolleys will feature live music on board and make stops around Jamaica Plain and help decrease the need for parking near the concert area.

Artists, bands and groups can apply to perform at the festival here. This year’s festival line-up will be announced in June.

"Coming into our fourth year is exciting because our audience has pretty much doubled every year, so we’re expecting a bigger crowd and people staying all day long," Rick Berlin, musician and co-producer of the festival, said in a statement. "I’m confident this will be our best festival yet."

Galway House is this year's founding sponsor, with JP Licks and Tres Gatos coming in as stage sponsors, organizers said. Mkhara Indian Bistro, JP Seafood Cafe, the Midway Cafe and Samuel Adams will be this year's major sponsors, while The Goods and The Haven will be contributing sponsors.
