Cuban Ball Players Head to JP

A team from Cuba has been given permission to come to Boston for a series of "Friendship Games" in the states.

For the second time in 50 years, a team of Cuban softball players will fly to Boston to play in a series of friendly softball games geared toward unity.

Athletes from Cuba will fly to the United States, being granted permission from both the Cuban and U.S. governments, to participate in the “Friendship Games,” a series of games against teams from the EMASS Senior Softball League.

They teams will play a pickup game at Pinebank Field in JP Saturday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m.

Over the past three years, 10 teams from the U.S. have gone to Havana, Cuba for the games.
