Catholic Diocese Plan Would Group JP, Egleston Parishes

Two parishes in JP and one in Egleston would be grouped together under the draft plan.

The Catholic Church has proposed putting two JP parishes and one Egleston parish in the same grouping as a way to deal with lower church attendance and a shortage of priests.

WBUR reports that the plan would cluster 290 parishes into 125 smaller groupings.

The draft plan would put JP's two parishes, and in with Saint Mary of the Angels, which is in Egleston Square just outside of JP. A copy of that plan is attached to this post.
