Author to Talk Planet's Future in Jamaica Plain on Thursday

Maude Barlow will visit JP to discuss her new book, "Blue Future: Protecting Water and People and the Planet Forever."

If you're a Jamaica Plain resident and want to learn more about creating a "water-secure world", read on.

Maude Barlow, author of "Blue Future: Protecting Water and People and the Planet Forever" (New Press, 2014), will be on hand in JP Thursday night to discuss her "Blue" trilogy, of which the recent book is the final installment, and relate stories of struggle and resistance from communities across the planet. 

The author-talk will take place at the First Church in Jamaica Plain Unitarian Universalist at 6:30 p.m.

Barlow, author of 17 books, is the national chairperson of the Council of Canadians, the board chair of Food and Water Watch, a senior scholar at IPS and a leader of a dynamic global movement to address the global water crisis.

Corporate Accountability International, Food Water Watch and Grassroots International will be sponsoring the event, which is hosted by the Jamaica Plain Forum.
