Arredondo Honored at 9/11 Ceremony

The parkway native was one of the heroes during the Boston Marathon Bombings.

Carlos Arredondo’s Boston Marathon Bombing heroics continue to be recognized at high levels.

The beloved parkway resident was honored at a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the State House Wednesday morning, according to the Boston Globe.

Arredondo received an award named for Madeline Amy Sweeney, a flight attendant on American Airlines Flight 11 which was the first of two Logan airport planes attacked during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Arredondo helped save a victim during the Boston Marathon Bombings April 15 and has been a widely recognizable figure in Boston since the incident.
