Alzheimer's Association to Hold Information Workshop in Jamaica Plain

Area residents will learn about early detection, treatment and risk factors.

The Alzheimer's Association is planning to host a workshop on the basic issues of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. 

The workshop will be held at the Woodbourne House, 8 Southburne Rd. in Jamaica Plain on Friday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

"Alzheimer's disease is not a normal part of aging," Paul Raia, PhD and Vice President of Clinical Services for the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts and New Hampshire Chapter, said in a statement. "This comprehensive program focuses on obtaining the correct diagnosis, understanding and addressing behavior and communication problems and finding local resources and support."

The workshop, which will be free and open to the public, aims to offer information about Alzheimer's and the benefits of early detection, as well as causes, risk factors, treatment and services offered by the association.
