Summer Learning Program at Jamaica Pond Award Ceremony

On Friday, August 9, 2013, from 11:30 am - 3:30 pm, the Jamaica Pond Summer Learning Project will hold their final celebration!  The Jamaica Pond Summer Learning Project is a collaboration between the Boston Public Schools, Boston Family Boat Building, and Courageous Sailing.  During the morning, students were able to focus on academics in small classes with qualified BPS teachers, and then later, transition to the enrichment portion of the day.  Students in small groups took swimming lessons at the Curtis Hall Community Center, learned to row in student made row-boats, learned to build their own small solar powered boats, learned about meteorology, and learned to sail their own sailboats!  Our culminating event will showcase students academic and enrichment work throughout the summer!
