Spanish and English Conversation Groups at Area Libraries
Here are five things you need to know Thursday, Jan. 9.
1. Thursday will be sunny with a high near 29 in Milton, according to the National Weather Service.
2. The Connolly Library ELS Conversation Group will meet at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., Thursday, for new English learners to speak English. All levels are welcome.
3. Jamaica Plain Library will hold a similar event, "Intercambio English/Spanish-Ingles/Espanol Conversation," casual conversation for English speakers who want to learn Spanish and Spanish speakers that want to learn English on Thursday. The event starts at 6:30 p.m
4. Over the past week, Mayor Marty Walsh, has filled out his cabinet. Here's a roundup of the appointments.
5. Mayor Walsh also tapped Acting Police Commissioner William Evans to take the job on a permanent basis.
