How Much Snow is Boston Getting?

The National Weather Service said there is still "some uncertainty" as the storm heads this way.

We’re officially in spring, but the snow isn’t done with us quite yet.

Another snowstorm is headed toward New England and expected to start Tuesday night and last into Wednesday. While this one carries quite a punch, weather forecasters are expecting the brunt of the storm to miss this area.

Cape Cod and the Islands are expected to get as much as 10 inches of snow with coastal flooding.

Boston is expected to not get nearly as much. Forecasters have been saying for days that this is an unpredictable storm and the National Weather Service said there is still “some uncertainty” as the storm heads this way.

This is evident in the predictions. While Channel 25 is predicting 3 to 6 inches, Channel 7 is expecting “gray skies, a few flakes and a little wind.”

Here are the snowfall predictions for the area from four groups of weather forecasters:

  • National Weather Service: 2 to 4 inches
  • Channel 4: 1-3 inches
  • Channel 7: up to 1 inch
  • Channel 25: 1-3 inches
