Helping Neighbors, Tree Disposal and More

Here are five things you need to know today, Dec. 26, in JP.

1. Neighbors for Neighbors: There's a great new blog on Jp Patch. Neighbors for Neighbors is a group dedicated to providing assistance on a person-to-person level. Their first entry is in support of the South Street Youth Center. Check it out!

2. Goodbye, Christmas trees: Looking to get rid of your Christmas tree? You're gonna have to wait a few days. Boston starts curbside pick-up on Dec. 30.

3. Reminder: Callahan Tunnel closure starts tomorrow: You'll need to think seriously about how to get to the airport for the next 14 months. The Callahan Tunnel will close for some much-needed repairs starting Friday, Dec. 27, and the given detours take you the wide way around. Check out the different options on the MassDOT website.

4. Post your events in Patch: The JP Patch calendar is totally user-driven; you can add your own events without having to clear it with an editor or anyone else. You can use this direct line to your neighbors any time. Just click on this link to get started.

5. Weather: Expect cloudy skies and possible snow showers today, with high temperatures in the low 40's.
