Boston Officials to Hold Public Hearing on Marijuana Dispensaries Tuesday

Residents, officials and dispensary proponents are expected to attend.

City councilors are set to hold a public hearing Tuesday to discuss the possibility of medical marijuana dispensaries opening up in Boston, according to the Boston Herald

Local residents, community leaders, dispensary proponents and representatives of city agencies are expected to attend the hearing Tuesday afternoon, according to the report.

Thus far, none of the 20 applicants that have been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health have been granted a license to open a dispensary, said Gov. Deval Patrick, who also noted that those applicants need to verify the information they gave the state before any licenses are awarded, according to the Herald.
