Arnold Arboretum Hosts 'The Role of Trees in Landscape Art'

Here are five thing you need to know Thursday, Jan. 23.

1. Thursday's high will be around 16 with wind chill values as low as -9, according to the National Weather Service. The skies will be partly sunny.

2. The Arnold Arboretum will host Robin Kelsey, PhD, Shirley Carter Burden Professor of Photography, History of Art and Architecture, Harvard University for a discussion entitled "The Role of Trees in Landscape Art," at 7 p.m. Thursday. The event is $10 for nonmembers.

3. The Knitting Circle, a drop-in group for all levels, will meet at the Jamaica Plain branch library at 6:30 p.m., Thursday.
