August Noise JP Kick-Off
A Far Cry Chamber Orchestra, 146a South St, Jamaica Plain, MA | Get Directions »
$11.00
August Noise JP is an outdoor, summer concert series that is entering its second season. We aim to create experiences that can inspire individuals and build a cultural community through music.
Our concerts are designed to be interactive, enriching the experience of musician and audience alike, while breaking down traditional boundaries of musical performance.
As a prelude to our season, we've organized a benefit concert to help us raise the funds needed to provide our JP community with a month of great music!
Ticket information:
- Purchase online or at the door (cash, check, or credit card)
- Advance prices: $11 or $9 for students/seniors.
- At-the-door: $13, or $10 for students/seniors.
Like August Noise itself, the concert features a wide variety of music, including performances by tenor Rob Parr, flutist Thomas James Wible, and singer/guitarist Vavá.
Join us for the post-concert cocktail party (21+), hosted by the incredible chef Anne! The cost of the party includes gourmet food & drinks, as well as a chance to meet the evening's musicians. (If you can't make it to the concert but would like to join us for the after party, send us an email!)

More About A Far Cry Chamber Orchestra
A Far Cry Orchestra was founded in 2007 by 17 local musicians bent on making their own rules. This self-conducted string orchestra explores the traditional boundaries of classical music and enjoys experimenting with the way it is prepared, performed and experienced. In addition to touring the U.S., A Far Cry is the Chamber Orchestra In Residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston for the 2010-11 season. It maintains a partnership with the New England Conservatory and does storefront rehearsals and a neighborhood concert series to connect with the growing Jamaica Plain community.
