JP Art for Music; O'Malley Office Hours

JP to Trade 'Art for Music' This Sunday

See the silent auction items you could take home.

James's Gate will host the annual fundraiser to correspond with the annual JP outdoor music fest this weekend. The local restaurant will host Art for Music 2013: A JP Music Fundraiser this Sunday at 2 p.m. The suggested donation is $10 per person for entry, and all proceeds will go toward the third annual JP Music Festival. The event will feature more than 50 donated silent auction items including:  • photography • illustrations • mixed media • paintings • home goods • pottery • jewelry • gift baskets

JP Artists’ Work to Be Displayed Downtown

The Jamaica Plain Artists Feature represents the largest body of work ever to be exhibited as part of the ongoing rotating Neighborhood exhibition program.

The art of several Jamaica Plain residents will be displayed at a downtown gallery beginning Wednesday. The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority will exhibit the work of 20 JP artists in its Neighborhood Showcase Feature Exhibition. The exhibit is from March 27 to June 28. The exhibit will feature a mix of paintings, photographs and mixed media collages selected from over 100 submissions. Two of 'Boston's Finest' Give Scoop on Show

Boston Police officers featured on the show dish about working with Donnie Wahlberg, and that one has never heard of New Kids on the Block.

  Two of the Boston Police Department officers featured on TNT's "Boston's Finest" reality show executive produced by Donnie Wahlberg spoke having cameras following them, being on television, charity work and the New Kids on the Block. Ryan Mason, 34, from West Roxbury, and Skye Robinson, 32, from Roxbury, met up with Patch at Boston Police Headquarters at the same time.  Patch: What unit are you in? Mason: Fugitive Unit – citywide. I started in BPD in 2005, and started in the Fugitive Unit in 2010, before that I was in District 4 and B-3. Robinson: I’m in the Youth Violence Strike Force. Art for Music: JP Music Fest Gears Up

The third annual Jamaica Plain Music Festival will take place in September.

It's still cold outside now, but before long residents from all around the area will head to Pinebank Field at Jamaica Pond for the neighborhood's third annual music festival. Several local artists will donate work to Art for Music: A JP Music Festival Fundraiser. Where in JP Do You Want a Hubway Station?

Brigham & Women’s Faulkner Hospital is “very interested” in sponsoring a Jamaica Plain Hubway bicycle share station.

There is mounting possibilty the Hubway bicycle sharing system might plan a station in Jamaica Plain for the 2013 season. Faulkner Hospital has expressed interest in sponsoring a station, and while there's no discussion as to where the station will be Green Street and Forest Hills have been floated as possibilities. Where do you think a Hubway station should be placed in Jamaica Plain? Leave your answers in the comments.
