Essential daily information at a glance, including that Sunday is the JP Bikes Spring Roll.

 

1. Forecast: Beginning partly sunny then mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Chance of gusty winds and small hail. Highs in the mid 60s. Chance of rain 40 percent.

2. Get Ready to Roll: One of the neighborhood's most fun bike events, the JP Bikes Spring Roll, is Sunday. Bike decoration starts at 10 a.m. Sunday at the South Street Mall Park and the ride kicks off at 11 a.m.

3. Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl: It's back! The Scooperbowl returns for its 30th year of gut-busting for a good cause. Runs through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall Plaza. Costs $10 for kids age 10 and up, $5 for kids age 3-9 and it is free for children under 3. A $20 pass lets you enter up to three times.

4. City Council Weekly Meeting: Today's meeting is expected to include a first vote on the city's capital budget. Takes place at noon at the City Hall Council Chambers. Check out the official agenda for more information. We'll post a report on any exciting bits this afternoon.

5. Loco for Local Night at Whole Foods: The monthly slate of free taste tests from area food companies is 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Dovetails nicely with First Thursday further down Centre.
