Police Probe Shooting in Jackson Square

A man was wounded in the leg in a Thursday night shooting just outside JP in Roxbury. Police closed down a wide area while they investigated.

A man suffered a "non life-threatening" gunshot wound to his leg on Thursday night in a shooting police say they are still investigating.

The man, shot at 166 Terrace St. just outside JP, was taken to Brigham & Women's Hospital for treatment, police said.

The incident disrupted the Jackson Square neighborhood, with police blocking off Heath Street from Columbus down to the rotary, according to Universal Hub.

Twitter users report the incident could have included a fusilade of 20-plus shots that may have been part of a car-to-car gun battle.

Police wouldn't confirm those aspects as of Friday morning, citing their continuing investigation. When police release more information about this incident, we'll report it here on JP Patch.
