Police: Jamaica Plain Mom Amber DeVoe is Still Missing

Detectives said they were unable to confirm several reported sightings of her yesterday in the South End.

Jamaica Plain mom Amber DeVoe is still missing, say Boston Police. Detectives say several reports of sighting the 28-year-old yesterday in the South End cannot be confirmed.

"We continue to ask everyone to be vigilant and contact detectives with information, 617-343-5628," police wrote in a press release.

People who know DeVoe have rallied the neighborhood to locate her. A Facebook page devoted to the cause continues to grow, with 4,497 "likes" as of Thursday afternoon.

Police had previously reported that DeVoe may be without necessary medication.

Police say Amber Ruth DeVoe is reported to be in good physical and mental health.

DeVoe is 5-8, around 180 pounds, with blond hair, blue/green eyes and wears her hair in a "faux hawk" style and shaved on the sides.

She drives a black 2007 Chrysler 300 with Massachusetts plates (pictured in the photo gallery above and right). DeVoe wears baggy clothing from Hollister, America Eagle, and Abercrombie. She has a distinct Michigan accent. She was last seen last Tuesday.

As previously reported, a fellow player in the Boston Women's Alternative Softball League, said she has "not made any contact with anyone, has not used phone, email, Facebook, anything since then." The player said DeVoe has also not shown up for either of her two jobs. A missing persons report has been filed, wrote the fellow player.

Have read that there have been possible sightings of Ms. DeVoe. Has law enforcement used a specially trained scent specific dog to check each if the locations that Ms. DeVoe may have been seen at? This could be done very easily and might help law enforcement and the family to concentrate their search efforts. All the family would have to do is to provide something, like a piece of clothing which belong to Ms. DeVoe, and in a short amount of time the dog would answer the question if Ms. DeVoe was at the location of the sightings.

Has the family tried to have her cell phone signals/calls be traced?
