PHOTO: Homage to Seamus Romney, Mitt Romney's 'Roofracked' Dog, Seen in Jamaica Plain
Someone driving a Toyota Camry around JP is making a statement about former Gov. Mitt Romney's infamous dog-on-the-roof-of-the-station-wagon incident.
Republican nominee for president, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, won't be winning JP. Or the state he used to govern, for that matter.
But you'll still see evidence of the presidential campaign here and there in Boston. JP resident Gretchen Van Ness noticed an homage to the 12-hour ride the Romney's Irish Setter, Seamus, was forced to endure on a family vacation in 1983.
A Toyota Camry with a very wet stuffed dog lashed to the roof wearing a t-shirt that says "Shame Us." Don't know who the owner is, but there are plenty of crazy dog people in JP! (I'm one of them, I have to admit).
Hat tip to the indispensable Universal Hub for first drawing attention to Gretchen's photo.

Oh - so that's what that meant - I saw the stuffed animal on the car, but did not know of the incident from the 80s.

A Brookline High School student has started the roof-racked dogs campaign. You can get more info (and order a dog of your own!) here: www.WhoLeftTheDogUp.com. Current dog owners (and sometimes the dogs themselves!) are posting their stories about driving around with a dog lashed to the roof: www.facebook.com/AdventuresofRomneyDog

Obama supporters have an issue with Romney putting his SICK dog on the roof of his auto, but no issue with Obama eating a dog? This makes about as much sense as Obama talking about reducing the deficit.

@KWUM Romney didn’t kill his dog, but the dog Obama ate; well you guessed it he's DEAD!

Obama would never drive with his dog on the roof. It dries out the meat!

There is a big difference between the decision of an adult to put a dog on a car and a young boy living according to the customs of another country.

@ Rher: "Reason" i think the term you are looking for is rational.
@ Maura: there is a major differance; Romney's dog didn't die, the dog Obama ate did!
