Long-Awaited Centre Street Sanctuary Opens

Owner Adam Rutstein says he wants to offer something for everyone in his "comfortable American bistro" style restaurant.

 

Along with planned condos and other amenities at the Blessed Sacrament Church campus, there is now an actual, open restaurant.

Centre Street Sanctuary opened for business Monday night at 4 p.m.

Owner Adam Rutstein said he hopes to have “something for everyone” at his American bistro-style restaurant.

Also, in the time – and place – of the vegan and vegetarian, Rutstein, from West Roxbury, said he doesn’t mind opening a restaurant that features lots of beef-based items.

“We have great veggie options, but I wanted to do a good steakhouse in this area because there really isn’t one,” he said on opening day. “Now, I have the restaurant to pretty much do both.”

Rutstein said Sanctuary has 51 craft beers, 74 wines and 11 speciality cocktails. The restaurant also specializes in small plates.

Centre Street Sanctuary is located at 365 Centre St. on the Blessed Sacrament Church campus.
