The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council is looking to fill five council vacancies. The council asks those who are interested attend the council’s next monthly meeting, which is tomorrow, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.

Several turned out to the council’s November meeting expressing interest in joining.

“If you are a JP resident, own a business in JP, or direct a non-profit organization in the neighborhood, a great way to get more involved with the neighborhood is by attending the meeting on the 18th and applying for one of the open seats!” Benjamin Day, council chair, wrote in an e-mail.

At the previous meeting, the council drafted an open letter to the Boston Redevelopment Authority expressing displeasure with the process that led to approval of provisions of the development at 161 S. Huntington Ave.
