Michael Rickman has taken to Facebook to try to get the community to fill a box with paper hearts to send to Newtown.
A Jamaica Plain man will be sending collective thoughts to those suffering following the Newtown, Conn. school shooting.
Holbrook Street resident Michael Rickman is asking friends and neighbors to write out their names, towns and a message to the community of Newtown on paper hearts and then mail the hearts to his address by Friday.
The project is called “Our Hearts are With You.” Rickman plans to compile the hearts and mail them to Sandy Hook Elementary School, the site of Friday’s shooting.
“Please the more the larger the impact,” Rickman wrote on his Facebook page. “Have co workers, children at your schools, family members teams, etc make a heart and mail it my way. We need to reach out anyway we can to these individuals.”
Those interest must mail to this address by Friday, Dec. 21:

I found the book: Help Thanks Wow by Anne Lamott to be a wonderful guide to prayer for Newtown, Ct. Here is my blog on what such prayers may look like. http://accdocpastor.blogspot.com/2012/12/help-thanks-wow-guide-to-prayer-for.html
