JP Neighborhood Council Candidate Statements: Area B

Two incumbents are seeking reelection. There are five Area B seats on the Neighborhood Council.

On Saturday, residents elect members to the JP Neighborhood Council, a volunteer advisory board. The 20-member Neighborhood Council is divided into three districts, with five members from each area and five at-large members.

Only two people, both incumbents, are running for the five slots in Area B, which comprises roughly central JP east of Centre Street. That means that both would probably be reelected, unless at least four write-in candidates get more votes.

Polls are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at three locations: , and . Any JP resident 16 or older can vote.

Jesse White

I am a prisoners’ rights attorney and a current member of the JPNC serving on the Housing and Development Committee. I value our vibrant and diverse community, and if you elect me I will continue to support affordable housing and responsible development informed by community process. I support initiatives that assist low- and moderate-income residents, youths and anti-displacement work. The overarching value that I bring to my work is a desire to support people fighting for their economic, social, cultural and civil rights. I hope that you will vote for me to continue serving on the JPNC.
