Five Things to Know: Thursday, Sept. 29

Essential daily information at a glance.

1. Weather: Matching the mood of Red Sox Nation, cloudy with showers. Highs in the mid 70s.

2. I just got word that the grand reopening celebration for Curtis Hall Community Center is Nov. 19! I don't know if the actual facility will be open for use before then, and I have a ton of other questions. But it's great news for JP that we'll have this key facility back after a year of extensive renovations.

3. Want one of those 100 jobs Whole Foods says it's gonna bring to their new Hyde Square store? The grocer is holding three job fairs starting Saturday at the Connolly Branch Library.

4. There's a new way to be a blogger here on JP Patch. If photography is your thing, we have a new "media template" that will show off your images much better. Contact me here or at chrish@patch.com for more information on how to get started.

5. I heard Blue Nile, the Ethiopian place in Hyde Square at 389 Centre St., is supposed to open today. I haven't been by to see if the injera is indeed flying, though.
