Five Things to Know: How to Report Storm Damage to the City

Essential daily information at a glance, including how to contact the city if trees or limbs are down on public ways.

1. Forecast: Cloudy with rain likely this morning, then sunny this afternoon. Rain may be heavy at times this morning. Highs in the lower 70s. Wind gusts up to 30 mph this morning. Chance of rain 70 percent.

2. Storm Damage, Part 1: If you notice any down trees or wires blocking public roadways, report it to the mayor's hotline at 617-635-4500. You can also report issues using the Citizen's Connect app from your smartphone.

3. Storm Damage, Part 2: Now that the trees are soaked with rain, the gusty winds called for today may do more damage, maybe snapping power lines. National Grid customers who experience outages should call 1-800-465-1212 to expedite restoration.

4.  Workplace Fall Job Fair: You’re invited to meet employers at the Central Branch of the Boston Public Library in Copley at a free job fair today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

5. Ready to Play Some Football?: Did you know JP has its own football league for adults? The Joseph Downing Football League plays Sundays at Daisy Field. New players (18+ years old) are welcomed to join through week three. It's touch football, no pads or helmets neeeded.
