A Hot Tub Spa like East Heaven in Northampton and Inman Oasis

Cool idea, bring a little of Northampton to JP

a gay book/card/gift/coffee shop ( for a small space ) OR as I dreamed having the old Woolworth's ( now goodwill ) turned into a live music venue like Passims in Harvard Square

A really fine Italian restaurant is needed in JP.

How about a clothing store that DOESN'T sell used clothing?

yeah, a clothing store that doesn't sell used clothes. something like the gap. only privately owned. just give me a place i can buy some new pants and a t-shirt.

We don't need a fine Italian restaurant, just an outpost of Comella's would be fantastic! (Although not so great for my waistline...)

I'd love to see a paper goods/stationary store in this little spot.

Not to go off on a tangent, but what's the deal with the string of spaces down by 170 South Street? There's JP Convenient Store and a pizza place, but the entire middle space (4 storefronts?) is empty. Let's get something good in there. As for the Cafe Society space, I'd love small specialty meat and cheese place. That's right, I eat meat.

I noticed that too yesterday and thought the same thing.

Third vote for clothing store that doesn't sell used clothes. Or if used, a higher end consignment store like STA or Secondi in Washington DC. If all else fails. A donut shop. Buy a donut, dip it in some JP Licks ice cream. How great would that be?

Also, a running store would be nice.

Bagels. A really good rotiserrie/ chicken place (like Peruvian chicken-yum!). BBQ restaurant. Maybe a locally-owned REI-type store. Yes, homemade donuts. A natural cosmetics line, like Origins. Clothes. shoes....

Dying for a theater of some kind, ala Somerville Theater in Davis, although this particular space is obviously too small. A Southern restaurant ala East Coast Grill would be great...JP's dark secret is that we are a bit lacking in sit-down restaurant options. A Marathon Sports would be nice. For the love of God, just don't let it be another thrift shop.

Yes, NO MORE USED clothes stores. And NO more nail/hair salons already! We already have three used clothes places in JP (Goodwill/Boomerangs/40 - used to be Gumshoe) and countless nail/hair salon places. That's quite enough.

Good options include
1) A charcuterie store a la The Butcher Shop in the South End that sells meat and cheese and wines with some seating would be lovely. (Actually Street Car Wine Shop should just do that - wines alone may not be enough esp with Blanchard's 1/4 mile down the street).
2) Hot tub spa a la Inman Oasis - now there's a gap in the JP market!
3) Mediterranean / Middle Eastern food in a sit down nice setting - Brookline Fam restaurant sucks and Cafe Beirut is too casual/hole in the wall looking.

Fingers crossed for something real good there.
