Bon Savor Closes

The space formerly occupied by the French/South American restaurant on Centre Street is up for lease.

, which had recently been operating severely curtailed hours, has closed.

The little bistro at the corner of Centre and Pond streets served French and South American-themed cuisine.

According to the JP Gazette, the restaurant's owners had problems getting U.S. visas and are currently in Colombia.

The space at 605 Centre St. is up for lease. Interested persons are asked to email Frantzis@aol.com.

Passersby stopped this afternoon to see the closed property, where tables and chairs have been removed and the Bon Savor signs taken down.

Asked what she'd like to see in it's place, Dana Oliver said she'd love to see a sandwich shop. Ami Novoryta, who was pushing a stroller with her child Mahri inside, said she'd love to see a coffee shop. Both of them noted that down the street toward Hyde Square several coffee shops had failed: and June Bug.
