Vee Vee owner Dan Valachovic helps local nonprofit

JAMAICA PLAIN, Mass. – January 25, 2012 – Community Servings is proud to partner with Dan Valachovic, the owner of VeeVee Restaurant, as an official 2012 Mustachio Bashio grower. Dan, an 18 year resident of Jamaica Plain, has been a ‘stache grower since the event was conceived in 2010.  In that time, he has been an essential fundraiser and was awarded “Best ‘Stache” and “Most Creative ‘Stache” by celebrity guest judge Jenny Johnson of NECN at the Mustachio Bashio party.

He says he grows “…for a few reasons: 1. He’ll jump at any excuse to grow a ‘stache, 2. It’s for a great cause, 3. Our restaurant helps us spread the word about the fundraiser and Community Servings.”

VeeVee, located on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain serves modern American food with a focus on fresh seafood, vegetables and grains. The acclaimed restaurant is about to celebrate its 4 year anniversary on February 4, 2012. Owners Dan, and his wife Kristen Valachovic are long time supporters of Community Servings – they purchase pies from our Pie in the Sky fundraiser and have attended our spring gala, LifeSavor.

Sarafina Scapicchio, Special Events Manager at Community Servings said “We’re so pleased that Dan decided to join us again this year and we’re grateful for his continued support of Community Servings and the Jamaica Plain community. We can’t wait to see his ‘stache debut at the Mustachio Bashio celebration on February 29th!”

Community Servings is still looking for mustache growers! All growers will receive a complimentary hot shave from Barbershop Deluxe. Men who raise over $100 are invited as a complimentary guest to the Mustachio Bashio on Febraury 29th at City Table in the Lenox Hotel, and growers that raise over $200, are invited to bring a guest as well.
