Gold Star Memorial Train Rolls Through Forest Hills This Evening

The MBCR/MBTA Gold Star memorial train will be heading through Forest Hills at 4:54 & 6:04 this evening.

The MBCR/MBTA ‘wrapped’ a train in red, white, and blue colors and then added over 150 gold stars to the train that each hold the name of every Massachusetts serviceman and woman who lost their lives in the Iraq or Afghanistan wars. The train was unveiled right before memorial day and will now travel  thousands of miles across Massachusetts and Rhode Island for 2 months as a reminder of our fallen heroes.

Among those honored on the train is Jamaica Plain's Alex Arredondo, who died in combat while serving with the Marines in Iraq. The JP Post Office is named for him.
