The Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund provides funding, financial strategizing, and logistical support to people who live in, or are having abortions in, Eastern Massachusetts and are unable to pay for their abortions. Additionally, the EMA Fund reduces social and economic barriers to abortion services through movement building, advocacy, and education.

We are an all-volunteer, consensus-based organization with nearly 50 dedicated volunteers. The board is a governing body that focuses on 3 distinct areas: overseeing day-to-day organizational functions, developing new and existing leadership, and ensuring that all EMA Fund activities adhere to the Statement of Purpose, Vision, and Values (www.emafund.org), with a specific focus on our current initiative to expand an anti-racism lens in our work and movement building.

We aim to create a board that is diverse in its makeup, with regard to both life experiences (including identities) and skillsets. As such, we will be most interested in meeting with individuals whose life experiences and skillsets can best help us organizationally support the 3 areas identified above.

You have the option to either submit your answers via this form, or if you prefer to meet with us in person, please email info@emafund.org with the subject line "I'm interested in joining the board!" If you do this, you don’t need to answer the questions electronically. Please submit your interest no later than August 31st, 2012.
