Help the Friends of the Jamaica Plain Branch Library as we collaborate with Bette Ann Libby (a noted mosaic artist who has done work for Boston Children's Hospital and other local landmarks) and the JP community to create a mosaic to be installed permanently in the JP Branch Library.
The project will occur over the summer and fall of 2012. We welcome neighbors of all ages and art ability levels to participate by donating ceramic shards over the summer to be incorporated into the mosaics: bring whole/broken dishes and other ceramics in all color and patterns (no glass, please) until October 11th. Please place broken shards in sealed paper/plastic bags, sorted by color. Shards should be no smaller than 1.5 x 1.5 inches please.
Containers for donations are at the JP Branch Library, 12 Sedgwick Street -- or they can be brought to our used book sale table at the Thursday Farmer's Market at the Loring-Greenough House.
Details on the mosaic creation workshops this fall are on our website at www.friendsjplibrary.org
